Janet Swan 'Spoken in song--what we have learned and can still learn from a good hymn' A chance to discuss singing, and hopefully do some singing! Taking place at a time when we have been told we cannot sing indoors with others, we will be discussing some of our favourite hymns and songs and talking about what singing means to us. Think of this as your chance to be part of your very own “Desert Island Discs”! If the weather is kind to us and we can sing outside we will also have chance to learn some new songs including songs from Taizé, songs in other languages and songs that help us to think of our unity as well as our faith. But please come prepared to talk about your favourite, song, hymn, piece of music or poem. If you want to you could also bring a recording (on CD or pendrive) or the sheet music / words. Janet Swan is an experienced choir leader and member of the Natural Voice Network. She leads a number of choirs and events. The emphasis is always on singing in the voice you were born with and building your confidence and love of singing. If you are not a confident singer but want to feel part of something that is music and singing related, this has to be the perfect retreat for you at this time. This retreat starts on Friday 16 Oct at 7pm and ends on Sunday 18 Oct at 2pm Suggested donation: £155
