The God who speaks

10/09/2021 - 12/09/2021 7:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Minsteracres team

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales decided that 2020 should be a year of focus on the Bible and the theme ‘The God Who Speaks.’ We were not able to deliver this last year and so throughout this year we will be developing and exploring new ways of responding to the God who speaks to us through the Scriptures. We will explore new ways of celebrating, living and sharing God‘s word in our own lives, within our parishes and partnerships, and with all whom we encounter. We invite you to join us for a weekend of prayer, reflection and fellowship. For individuals or groups from parishes and partnerships.

This retreat will start on Friday 10 September at 7pm and ends on Sunday 12 September at 2pm.

Praying with Verdi’s Requiem

26/11/2021 - 28/11/2021 6:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Euan Tait

The penitential seasons are deeply creative for us: the Holy Spirit enables us to examine and renew our spiritual lives. Great music helps us in our praying; music helps us pray and access our spiritual longings.

Verdi’s moving and loved Requiem is a powerful exploration of our praying heart, our longings and fears. This great soul drama explores the journey of individual souls and all humanity as we go through a time of transformation in mercy and power.

In this weekend retreat, well-known choral poet and experienced retreat leader Euan Tait who has had major premieres throughout the US and Britain, will help us explore key renewing themes for Advent.
