Team Minsteracres

Community

We are a Christian community based retreat centre. At the present time we are 12 members: women and men, priests, religious and lay, married and single from different cultural backgrounds.

The resident community is the guardian of the ethos of Minsteracres, which is expressed through a life of prayer, presence and hospitality.

Prayer:  We contribute to Minsteracres being a place of prayer through maintaining the daily rhythm of prayer. If and when required we assist people in their journey of faith: encouraging them to find the right relationships with themselves, others, God and Creation .

Presence: We offer a listening ear and accompany people on their journey. We are available for people from all walks of life but maintain a special option for people who have been disempowered spiritually and/or socially and very often find themselves at the margins of Church and Society. We try to enable them to find their own inner strength and to deepen their spirituality .

Hospitality: Through a spirit of welcome we create space for guests where they can feel at home, be themselves and enjoy the peace and natural beauty of Minsteracres in Northumberland.

The Minsteracres prayer

Dear Lord,

We thank you for the beauty and peace of Minsteracres

By your grace, enable us to be a community of welcome and love, compassion and healing, hope and reconciliation.

Unite us in friendship that we may follow the path of your cross and resurrection and serve you and one another with joy.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit to live and work for your praise and glory.

Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord,

Amen
