On a glorious and unusually warm February day (15°C plus,) 25 of us; community, staff, volunteers, friends and Tynedale Horticulture Services gathered to plant 30 oak trees.  Each tree is approximately 4 years old and has been planted in the parkland at Minsteracres.

Each year we aim to plant as many new trees as we can both in the parkland and in our woodland.  The aim is to achieve a mosaic of age from young to ancient trees to maximise the benefits of our woodland to the natural world.

Some of the trees have been planted in memory of loved ones and thanks to a very generous donation from one of our supporters the cost of purchasing, planting, protecting and sponsoring the trees has been covered for this year.

If you would like to sponsor a tree please let us know and we will happily arrange a brass plaque with wording of your choice.  Email info@minsteracres.org, or call 01434 673248
