The chapel within the main house provides a prayerful space, which is used by the resident community everyday.
The parish of St Elizabeth at Minsteracres
The parish of St. Elizabeth started in 1765 when the Silvertop family established the ‘Minsteracres Mission.’ Since then it developed to what it is now: a vital and vibrant faith community with active participation in the liturgy and other dimensions of parish life.
The Cross of Hope
The Cross of Hope which stands in the parkland to the north of the house is a both piece of art, and a focus for prayer and contemplation. It came about because the cross which originally stood in the north park was deteriorating and needed to be replaced.
The Poustinia (the Russian word for hermitage) is located in a quiet area on the ground floor of the main house. It has its own chapel, study/dining room, en-suite bedroom creating a silence where one person is enabled to find the ‘poustinia’ of the heart and be immersed in that silence.
On the second floor of the Main House we have a small room dedicated to quiet prayer and contemplation.
