The Word is at the root of everything we do, and the Bishops of England and Wales have announced a Year of the Word (‘The God who speaks’) for 2020, starting in September this year. Our Music — Word — Prayer weekend will explore ways of connecting scripture to music in the liturgy, ways to bring the psalms to life with music, repertoire for the Year of the Word, and much, much more. If you have a role in the musical or liturgical life of your parish or community, come and find information and inspiration!

  • On Friday evening, you are invited to a mini-retreat aimed primarily but not exclusively at musicians: a time of reflection and prayer, with scripture, music, visuals and silence.
  • The Saturday morning and afternoon sessions will focus on how music can give life to the Word of God in many different ways. The day will begin and end with a time of prayer.
Led by Paul Inwood, internationally-known author and speaker, liturgist, organist and choir director, and composer of the official Vatican Hymn for the Holy Year of Mercy. Suggested donations: £65: Friday 15 (7pm) – Saturday 16 (5pm) November £25: Saturday only (10am – 5pm, including lunch and refreshments)

Bookings are closed for this event.
