Our annual open house is coming up. Why not join us on bank holiday Monday 2nd May?
As usual we’ll be offering tours of the house, giving an insight into the catholic family who built and developed the estate, established a Catholic ministry here and built the church which houses the parish of St Elizabeth’s.
We will also have displays showing what our volunteers get up to, the work of the outreach team and conservation volunteers and the progress of our retreat house renovation project (we’re very proud of our new showers!).
Following requests in previous years for more information, we also plan to have a section explaining what a going on a ‘retreat’ means in the 21st century. You may find it is rather different from what you imagined, and certainly a world away from what you may have experienced in the latter half of last century!
There will be staff, volunteers and members of the community around to chat to and tell you about our work.
