At the beginning of the year, our Outreach team was ready to swing into action looking forward to welcoming our fabulous guests to Minsteracres. We had a full programme ahead of us with some familiar and some new groups. During March we were fortunate to have two groups who came to spend a day with us in early spring: North Tyneside Carers, and All Friends Together from South Shields, a group which supports adults with learning disabilities by providing day care. Like the rest of the UK we were stopped in our tracks by Coved 19, and Minsteracres closure on 23rd March. Our Outreach team has kept in touch with monthly zoom team meetings, and our team WhatsApp group – including the usual corny Covid based jokes!

As Minsteracres has reopened, we have been preparing to welcome back out outreach groups from October. We have groups coming for overnight stays and days until mid-December, many rearranged from cancelled stays earlier in the year. We are especially excited during October half term, to welcome more than Grandparents group, a Kinship Carers support group from Sunderland, with their group of wonderful children – always an action packed couple of days!

As a memory of our day with all friends Together in March, we have these lovely photos of our afternoon in the Peace Garden with Ross and Katrina
