One of the features of Minsteracres is the mile-long drive that connects the centre with the A68 trunk road. It leads past rhododendrons and through an avenue of Sequoias and parkland before arriving at the Retreat Centre.
Visitors will have noticed the gradual decline in the condition of the drive. 6,000 visitors a year, coaches, delivery trucks and the weather have taken their toll. So, to avoid further deterioration we are planning to re-surface the entire drive in 2020. It will cost £25 per square metre. Since there are 2,400 square metres to be covered we need to raise £60,000. So far £15,000 has been pledged, which is a great start, but we need help to raise the remaining £45,000.
You can support us by making a donation to cover one or more metres of the driveway. We have set up a fundraising page hosted Virgin Money Giving, which you can find here This is an easy and secure way to make a donation online. If you are a UK tax payer you can tick the Gift Aid box and we will be able to claim an additional 25% from the Government. You can always make a donation in person too or if you prefer contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01434 673248.
